The goal of 2016 "Faces and Identifies" artist grant project was to promote intercultural understanding and widen our perception of beauty. Portraits of residents in my community were illuminated with historical references. Their ancestries are traced to Armenia, India, Ukraine, Jamaica, Spain and Italy. They embody the spirits of our immigrant nation - hope, anxiety, courage and pride. Although these faces tell individual stories, each exudes a sense of dignity that underscore our common bond of humanity.
